Here's my entry to contest Beyond the Frontier II - Center of Power. It's pretty obvious that the plan was to color it (hence the name Rainbow Army, taht would make a lot more sense) but time was short and it turned impossible to color it properly until the contest deadline. No matter what, I decided to submit it anyway, and I still want to color it anyway.

About the scene, this is something from a comic I'm creating, about a mercenary called Schaffer and his pal, a talking monkey called Steinbeck. Here they're fighting an entire army (The Rainbow Army) after stealing the Center of Power, the most precious jewel in the universe. Enjoy.

Awesome artwork, man. The Rainbow Army looks great. The dude and his monkey share a striking resemblance to Yorick and Ampersand in "Y: The Last Man." Was that your inspiration for their designs?

I love 'Y: The Last Man', but I never thought about Yorick or Ampersand during the design... But now that you mentioned it, it seems pretty obvious, the resemblance. In my defense I can say it was a totally uncounsious process, if that was what happened, and that, unlike Yorick and his pet monkey, my characters share the same amount of proeminence; that is because Steinbeck (the monkey) talks and acts as a human, resulting in a totally diferent relationship between my two characters from the one you see on 'Y'. And thanks a lot for the words.
